To this end, the House through its Committee on Insurance and Actuarial Services resolved to tinker with the extant pieces of legislation. Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Citing an instance, Nwokoocha said that the Third Party Insurance Act of 1945 still has fines prescribed in colonial pounds sterlings instead of Naira.
