In Schenectady, Glorious Church recently donated computers, wheelchairs and glasses to help the people of Nigeria. Dr. Omotayo Orederu founder and lead pastor of Glorious Church and a native of Ogun State, Nigeria said the church donated 40 computers, 23 refurbished wheelchairs, and more than 3,000 pairs of glasses, all of which were donated from organizations around the Capital Region. The items are expected to arrive in Nigeria this month. The computer donation is part of a pilot program where elementary school-age children in Ibadan, Nigeria, will receive the computers to learn age-appropriate coding and programming. Throughout the pandemic, Orederu has donated food and supplies, and organized food drives, once partnering with local elementary school to provide food for their food pantry and donated backpacks and school supplies.
