Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner s life is the focus of an upcoming Hollywood sports movie, American Underdog. And, based on a first-look clip posted for the movie Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers have a supporting role.
Maybe a better term would be rejecting role.
Warner s story as the star quarterback says in the clip posted by Lionsgate has long been thought of as made for Hollywood. He was signed by the Packers in 1994 but was cut before the season started. For a while, he worked stocking shelves at an Iowa grocery store before he was signed by an Arena Football League team, the Iowa Barnstormers. In 1998, he landed a spot as a backup quarterback with the then-St. Louis Rams; a year later, the team s starting quarterback was injured in a preseason game, Warner got the job, and improbably led the Rams to victory in the Super Bowl.

WWE Star Visits Albany 20 Years After Life-Changing Title Win
Back in October of 2000, a packed house at the Pepsi Arena in Albany (and a massive PPV audience) watched WWF superstars The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rikishi, Triple H and Kurt Angle in the third and final event in the No Mercy trilogy.
That night, many memories were made and those who were in attendance remember the excitement and energy like it was yesterday including WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Angle calls that night one of the the biggest moment of his career as he rocketed to stardom after pinning The Rock and winning the WWF Championship.
