Talons Challenge
The pandemic may have canceled a lot of events, but never fear, the Talons Challenge at Beaver Creek is still here. This formidable feat of skiing or snowboarding 26,226 vertical feet on some of Eagle County’s steepest terrain all in one day can cause fear in some and awe in others. Your legs may feel like jelly after all those steep runs and bumps, but it is something that relatively sane people have been doing for the past 17 seasons.
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, instead of hosting the 18th annual Talons Challenge in one day, it can be completed from now until April 4, Beaver Creek’s Closing Day. The event is also free this year, so why not give it a try?

The Residency features Martin Sexton at Vilar
Martin Sexton returns to the Vilar Performing Arts Center as part of the new concert series called The Residency. Sexton will play multiple shows on Saturday and Sunday to a limited-capacity audience in the theater, which is situated under the ice rink at Beaver Creek Village.
Sexton is no stranger to the Vilar Performing Arts Center and made a stop here last year. He’s played big venues like The Fillmore and Carnegie Hall but the Syracuse, NY native never forgets his roots and his days playing in the streets and subway stations of Boston back in the 1990s.
Pizza
Nothing says Super Bowl House Party quite like pizza and there are several places to grab a few slices or whole pies. There are plenty of pizza joints up and down valley that deliver, too. Keep in mind, pizza places will be very busy on Sunday, so order early if you want to get your pizza before kick off time, which is 4:30 p.m.
Orderfood Vail by à la Car
Orderfood by à la Car is the Vail Valley’s restaurant delivery service that will bring some of the best dishes from Vail to Edwards right to your door. Order between 5 and 10 p.m. (last order must be placed by 9:30 p.m.) If you want to get away from the traditional Super Bowl snacks like nachos and wings, try veal ambrosia from Lancelot in Vail or shrimp chau chau from Annapurna Nepali and Indian cuisine.

It’s the last weekend for the Magic of Lights Vail, a brand new attraction that fills the nights with fun and wonder after a great day on the slopes. Magic of Lights Vail is a walk-through display of colorful lights and winter-themed displays consisting of 500,000 lights along a half mile path throughout Betty Ford Alpine Gardens and the Lower Bench of Ford Park. The area is large enough to allow for social distancing and reservations are set so there’s a specific number of people allowed into the area at one time.
