Showcasing artworks recently gifted by Mr. Bailey, a Los Angeles-based, advocate, scholar and collector, the exhibition represents an important new direction for the Ohr-OKeefe. Created with various media, the artworks testify to the enduring creative impulse that cuts across cultures, geography and generations. All of the featured artists are making their debuts in the museums expanding permanent collection. The Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) has announced the August 15, 2021 grand re-opening of its renewed and expanded galleries following a six-year, $50 million renovation, led by the Santa Barbara-based firm of Kupiec Architects PC and executed by Santa Maria-based Diani Corporation.
