Senior nationalist politicians have said they won t be deterred after security alerts sparked by reports of explosive devices at their offices.
West Belfast MP Paul Maskey was defiant after a bomb alert outside Sinn Fein s constituency offices in west Belfast.
SDLP deputy leader Nichola Mallon MLA also said her party will not be intimidated after reports her North Belfast office had also been targeted.
It was one of three security alerts in the city yesterday.
Secretary of State Brandon Lewis said his thoughts were with both politicians. These pathetic attempts at intimidation are totally unacceptable. Nothing can justify such actions against public representatives who willingly serve in the best interests of their communities, he said.

Reports of bomb attacks on two political offices in Belfast are being investigated.
The offices targeted are those of SDLP MLA Nichola Mallon in North Belfast and Sinn Fein MP Paul Maskey in West Belfast.
Ms Mallon said she will not be deterred by the incident.
“I want to make it clear that neither I nor my party will be intimidated or deterred by those responsible,” she said.
“We are committed to representing people in North Belfast and in every community across Northern Ireland.”
Mr Maskey described the report of the incident at his office as “very concerning” and condemned those responsible.

A security alert is in West Belfast has now ended.
It was sparked following a report of a suspect device in Devonshire Close, off the Grosvenor Road.
The PSNI has revealed that it was a hoax after officers and ATO attended and the scene. It comes after two of Belfast City Council s offices were evacuated after reports of a suspicious object located at Adelaide Street yesterday.
Employees were asked to leave the buildings in the area and ATO attended the scene. It was later described as nothing untoward .
