Born on this day in 1950, Peter Kenneth Frampton, the British-American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist with the bands Humble Pie and The Herd, turns 71. With the release of
Frampton Comes Alive! in 1976, Frampton became a superstar. The album sold more than 8 million copies in the United States and spawned several hit singles. Since then he has released several major albums. He has also worked with his childhood buddy David Bowie as well as both Matt Cameron and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, among others. Sadly, last year Peter announced a farewell tour after revealing he has a rare and incurable muscular disease that causes the muscles to weaken slowly.
