This community pantry is doing a very commendable act of charity, for ‘Man does not live on bread alone but by the Word of God.’And the Bible is the Word of God,” he said in an interview Monday, May 3. “This community also gives nourishment for the soul and not only for the body. The word of God is the food for the spirit, just as bread is food for the body!” Bastes added.

April 17, 2021 THE number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Cebu City has gone down in the last two weeks. According to City Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the decrease of Covid-19 cases during this period was the reason fewer recoveries were recorded in the last three days. Based on the data of the Department of Health (DOH) 7, the city logged only 17 recoveries in the last three days, or 12 on April 14, four on April 15 and one on April 16. The DOH 7 data showed that Cebu City recorded 893 Covid-19 cases from April 3 to April 16.

(JANSEN ROMERO / FILE PHOTO / MANILA BULLETIN) “We welcome the gracious offer of the Church leaders and that will complement our capacities and also in building the vaccine confidence of our people,” said Duque during a press briefing in Quezon City on Thursday.  “Maganda po ang kanilang offer [Their offer is good] and we will take it anytime,” he said.  Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. also agreed with the Health chief.  “We welcome yung kagustuhan ng ating mga bishop and I believe being a religious community malaking increase ng possible confidence sa ating mga kababayan sa bakuna [We welcome the offer of our bishops and I believe being a religious community, this will greatly increase the possible confidence of our people in the vaccines],” said Galvez.
