A Fayetteville man was killed and a teen seriously injured in a single-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on Blanton Road.
Devontay Crumpler, 20, of the 500 block of Tipperary Court, was driving a 2015 Chrysler sedan toward Johnson Street when he struck a tree in the 4700 block of Blanton Road, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
Crumpler was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stephon Links, 17, of the 6500 block of Vineyard Drive, was a passenger in the vehicle. Links was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, police said.
The accident was reported at 1:45 p.m. in a residential neighborhood off Bragg Boulevard and Pamalee Drive.

For many residents near the planned development known as Summit View II on Dade Cityâs outskirts, the project represents a betrayal of long-standing rules and promises to keep the rural nature of their community, complete with its rolling hills, heritage trees and bucolic ambiance.
For some city leaders, the development is a way for Dade City to control itâs own destiny, funding much-needed city infrastructure and managing their little piece of the rapdily spreading residential growth across Pasco County.
