Construction work has begun on
Canfield Park, two mid-rise five- and six-story apartment buildings across from the Fairfield Metro North Train Station in Bridgeport, Conn.
Spinnaker Real Estate of Norwalk, Conn., and Eastpointe of Fairfield, Conn., are the real estate companies partnering on the property and they secured a $68 million loan to construct the 300-unit property in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. The companies formed a joint venture and purchased the site at 286 Canfield Ave. for $7.7 million in August.

USDA is seeking applications for loans and grants to improve community facilities such as to build or upgrade schools, health care facilities, libraries and first responder services and equipment in South Dakota.
More than 100 types of projects are eligible for Community Facilities funding. Eligible applicants include municipalities, public bodies, nonprofit organizations and federally recognized Native American tribes. Projects must be in rural areas with a population of 20,000 or less.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - For a man who claims to be terrible with names, Bryan Ring seemed to have no trouble last week at the homeless encampment near Sheridan Memorial Park in Minneapolis.
“Hey, Robert,” he said to a man headed to the camp’s portable toilet while wearing just one boot. “How are you doing? Get that boot on!”
He teased Angel Prince about spraining her thumb. “Whatcha been doin’, Angel? Beating up one of the guys in camp again?”
