4 injured in crash Sunday

AMBOY TOWNSHIP The Hillsdale County Sheriff s Office reported Monday morning that four persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Amboy Township.
Deputies were dispatched to E. Territorial Road near S. Bird Lake Road around 8 p.m. Sunday evening with paramedics and firefighters from the Wright-Waldron Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Reading Emergency Unit, Hudson Area Ambulance and the Morenci Fire Department.
A news release stated the crash remains under investigation.
A preliminary investigation showed that 19-year-old Korbin M. Paris of Montpelier, Ohio and passenger 23-year-old Paul A. Shaffer also of Montpelier were traveling south bound on S. Bird Lake Road when Paris disregarded a stop sign at the intersection and struck 60-year-old Randy Earl May of Waldron and passenger 55-year-old Lisa Marie Bell of Waldron who was traveling eastbound on Territorial Road.
Healthcare advisory group hears former exec

MOUNT GILEAD The Morrow County Healthcare Initiative Citizens Group (MC-HIC) heard about healthcare in Williams County, Ohio, and shared their concerns about healthcare and the hospital with Phil Ennen at their May 4 meeting.
HIC Chairman Jennifer Williams brought this nationally respected expert in healthcare to Morrow County to share his experience with the group. Ennen is the subject of the book, “The Hospital,” that was released this year.
Ennen was COO and then CEO for 32 years at Bryan Hospital in Williams County. He is presently serving on Ohio’s Pandemic Response Team. He spoke first about how healthcare and hospital business has become extremely complicated since the 1980s and 90s.
Helen Cunningham
Helen Maxine (Zeller) Cunningham, 93, passed away April 9, 2021, at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, Nebraska, after a brief illness.
Helen was born Sept. 5, 1927 to Vernal (Bateman) and Dannie Zeller in Marion, Kansas.
She attended high school in Marion and graduated in 1945. She continued her education at the Wesley Medical Center School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas and received her RN degree in 1948.
She began her 45-year career in Kansas and held various nursing positions in Washington State, Utah, and Nebraska. She worked as a critical care nurse at Lincoln General, Saint Elizabeth’s, and Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, until she retired in 1992.
