After four months on the run, the accused killer of a beloved New Orleans high school teacher has been arrested in Indiana. Liz Quackenbush, 39, was found stabbed to death on March 3 in the house she shared with her boyfriend, Preston Higgs, NOLA.com reported. New Orleans police obtained a warrant to arrest Higgs, but the 36-year-old man took off. Eleven days after her death, Quackenbush’s cell phone was found in the back of a pickup truck in southern Iowa. The truck’s owner, who told authorities he makes deliveries all over the region, said he didn’t know how or when the phone showed up in his truck.
