American National Bank sustained significant damage to its main banking center in Terrell, causing it to temporarily close likely though early March, according to the bank. Customers are asked to visit Terrellâs mini-bank location around the corner for lobby services, including access to safety deposit boxes. In all, the cityâs water service performed 130-150 emergency water cutoffs, according to assistant city engineer Mike Mikeska. He estimated that 30-35 businesses in Terrell were impacted, and the rest of the cutoffs were residential. In addition, city crews handled about six calls for water main breaks. With such a large volume of water gushing through pipes after they thawed, water meters were spinning throughout town. Mikeska said the city will try to work with water customers who experience skyrocketing bills. ....

There will be no cots or blankets, pillows, food, medication or USB ports. However, there will be regular power outlets for charging and restrooms. Sarah Taffer Blasius, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2020 at her home with family at her side. Sarah was born Feb. 1, 1938 in Terrell and she was met in Heaven by her father, James M. Taffer, mother, Frances (Darst) Taffer Berry, her step father, William D. Berry, husband, Willie Jack Blasius and brother, Edward âEddieâ Taffer. Sarah graduated from Terrell High School in 1956 where, in addition to her academic aptitude, she was an accomplished tennis player on the THS team and was a Flag Bearer with the Color Guard. On March 29, 1958, she married the love of her life, Willie Jack Blasius at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ, and together they had many wonderful years until his passing in 1997. A loving and supportive wife in all aspects, Sarah was the foundation in their family as Jackâs job opportunities took them to various cities in Texas. She made sure to make their house a home, become a part of their new cityâs activities along with f ....
