Brindisi Ready to Close the Books on 2020 Election

Latest Delay in NY-22 Results May Not Be Last

In what was thought, possibly, to be the last court appearance before certifying election results of New York's 22nd Congressional District, there's been another hold-up in naming a winner - with more delays potentially on the horizon.

NY22: Tenney increases lead to 122 votes over Brindisi

Observer-Dispatch After 1,097 affidavit ballots were canvassed in Oneida County, Republican Claudia Tenney’s unofficial lead in the race grew by 93 votes in the race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.  Tenney now leads Democrat Anthony Brindisi by 122 votes, with a final canvass of votes scheduled to begin Monday.  Affidavit ballots were canvassed this week for error correction on the order of state Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte after it was discovered that 2,418 online voter registration applications that arrived before the state deadline were not processed in Oneida County.  All told, 393 additional affidavit ballots were opened and counted from those administratively rejected by the Oneida County Board of Elections in previous canvasses. Tenney received 232 votes, while Brindisi received 139 and Libertarian Keith Price received 2.

NY-22: Harassing texts sent to judge in Brindisi Tenney case

Observer-Dispatch The rancor that was so prevalent in the recent presidential campaign seems to have spilled into the court case to decide who will represent New York s 22nd Congressional District. State Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte, who is overseeing the judicial review of contested ballots in the razor-tight race between Democrat Anthony Brindisi and Republican Claudia Tenney, has received several harassing text messages trying to influence his decision. The messages came to light in a court filing Thursday via a letter from DelConte’s principal law clerk related to texts sent to the judge. The clerk read the messages, though DelConte had not, and copies were included in the letter.

Brindisi and Tenney- The Latest Count and Plan for NY-22

Oswego County Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte is focused on next Wednesday, January 27th. That's when America's only delinquent county board of elections commissioners are required to get the results of some 2,418 canvassed votes that had not been counted up to this point because the BOE simply ran out of time.
