The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have moved to suspend the membership of the 45-year-old actor â who has starred in the likes of âDoctor Whoâ and âKidulthoodâ â after a piece published in The Guardian newspaper revealed several women had accused him of harassment 4 May 2021
The Guardian article claimed the women had accused Clarke of a range of inappropriate activities, including sexual harassment, unwanted touching or groping, sexually inappropriate behaviour and comments on set, professional misconduct, taking and sharing sexually explicit pictures and videos without consent, and bullying between 2004 and 2019.
The Met Police said in a statement: On Wednesday 21 April police received a third party report relating to allegations of sexual offences committed by a male over a period of time. Officers are currently assessing the information. We would urge anyone who believes they have been subjected to a sexual offence to report this to police so the information can be assessed and investigated accordingly. There are specially trained officers ready to provide advice and support.
Such a third party report cannot be investigated but can be used as intelligence to see if it fits with other reports against the same individual.
