Pool / Staff Photographer) Hoping for much better control of the coronavirus pandemic by fall, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has announced a 2021-22 season of full-orchestra performances, even works with chorus. Music director Fabio Luisi will conduct 11 programs, including a gala with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and concert performances of Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin. Principal guest conductor Gemma New will lead three programs. Former music director Andrew Litton will return to mark the 30th anniversary of his DSO debut.

Donation from Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey helps create a music studio at his Botetourt County alma mater “Something like that doesn’t happen every day.” Tags:  The Old Dominion frontman is known for giving back to his community. For many years, he and other Nashville songwriters have put on a benefit concert at the school and his foundation, The Ramsey Foundation, also donates to the local food pantry. Now, his latest donation of $19,000 has helped create a music studio for the school. The work was started by teacher-turned-librarian Jim McLeese, who has a passion for music. A few years ago, McLeese and another teacher visited a school in Northern Virginia that had a music studio in the school.

Show societies to host etiquette class for CQ teens, adults

Premium Content An etiquette course is being held in Emerald for teenagers and adults. The Central Highland Agricultural Show societies applied for a grant with Central Highlands Regional Council for the high-quality course run by the Australian School of Etiquette. The course is tailored towards young people in the region who are interested in being show representatives. Participants do not have to become a Showgirl or Rural Ambassador however the course would equip them with the skills and confidence to do so.
