Mejhor Morta said they are experiencing “more than grief” and hope an investigation will explain what happened to the soldier, whose body was discovered last week drowned in a lake miles from Fort Hood, Texas. “We still don’t know what really happened,” said Hazel Morta, the soldier’s older sister. “We hope and pray that only the truth will come out and we can have answers after a thorough investigation as this is what our brother truly deserves.”

NATO and Stallions conduct Exercise Iron Wolf | Across the Fort

RULKA, Lithuania — “This is why we are here; to work side by side with our NATO allies and show how effective we can be as a united front,” said Sgt. Shaun Hollenkamp, 2nd Battalion 8th Cavalry Regiment. The 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, participated in a 12-day training exercise in Rukla, Lithuania, May 30. “It is awesome to be a part of such a large military operation that includes so many different nations,” Hollenkamp, a Bradley Fighting Vehicle section sergeant, added. The multinational Enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Lithuania were the headlining facilitators of the exercise. The “Stalilons” rapidly integrated a company-plus size element within the Lithuanian Armed Forces before serving as the opposing force, led by the Enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group.
