REGIONAL Nobles and Murray counties each added four new positive COVID-19 tests during the 24-period that ended at 4 p.m. Saturday, according to Sunday morning s update from the Minnesota Department of Health.
Rock County, meanwhile, added three new cases, while Cottonwood and Pipestone counties each reported two new cases and Jackson County added one.
A total of 1,847 more Minnesotans received positive COVID-19 test results during the latest 24-hour period. The cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases statewide now stands at 556,381 (positive and antigen tests), with 530,121 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 40,430 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.

REGIONAL A Cottonwood County resident between the ages of 90 and 94 is the latest to die from complications from COVID-19.
The information, reported Friday morning by the Minnesota Department of Health, stated there were six deaths reported during the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Thursday. Among the dead, five resided in private residences, while one was a resident of a long-term care or assisted living facility.
Minnesota’s death toll from the virus now stands at 6,995, including 4,325 residents of long-term care facilities.
Meanwhile, 2,299 more Minnesotans received positive COVID-19 test results during the 24-hour period. Among them were 10 residents of Jackson County, nine residents of Cottonwood County, seven from Nobles County, six from Rock County, and three from Pipestone County. Murray County reported no new cases for the day.
