Representatives Buddy Carter and Bob Good signed onto fellow Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene s legislation that would reduce the salary of Dr. Anthony Fauci, America s leading infectious disease expert, to $0.
The release of thousands of Fauci s emails ignited renewed criticism of his response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the early dismissal of the Wuhan Institute of Virology as the origin of the outbreak.
Some legislators have called for Fauci to be fired from his position as director of the National Institute of Virology, and Candace Owens, a conservative commentator, went as far as to advocate for his imprisonment.

Harris is facing severe backlash from Maryland lawmakers following last week’s attack on the U.S. Capitol. On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the Capitol went under lockdown and lawmakers were taken to secure locations when supporters of Trump stormed the building. Five people died, including one Capitol Police officer.
The Maryland Democratic Party is calling for Harris’ resignation and said he was complicit in the chaos and tried to overturn a fair election. Harris was the only representative from Maryland to challenge electoral college results that night after Congress reconvened. Challenges failed and around 3 a.m. last Thursday, Congress confirmed President-Elect Joe Biden as the next president.

The Maryland Democratic Party is calling for Rep. Andy Harris’ (R-District 1) resignation, saying he is complicit in Wednesday’s chaos at the U.S. Capitol.
Harris was the only representative from Maryland to challenge electoral college results Wednesday night after Congress reconvened. Challenges failed and around 3 a.m. Thursday, Congress confirmed Joe Biden as the next U.S. president.
“Make no mistake, the Republican members of Congress who instigated this violence including Representative Harris are complicit in this attempted insurrection. They have blood on their hands,” a statement from the state democratic party said. The statement called Harris’ actions an attack on democracy and an “attempt to overturn a legitimate election in favor of a wannabe authoritarian.” The party also created a petition to demand his immediate resignation.
