NEW BRITAIN – The American Savings Foundation Board of Directors recently awarded 28 grants totaling $124,325 through its Community Grants program.
“These newest grants help many agencies that have faced a challenging year due to covid-19, from providing food and basic needs, to sustaining virtual arts and cultural programs,” said Cierra Stancil, program officer at the American Savings Foundation.
ASF awarded a total of 56 community grants totaling $201,823 in 2020 between these 28 and the grants announced in the spring. This is part of the foundation’s total annual giving of over $3 million.
The Community Grants program, created in 2019 in response to feedback from grant seekers, awards grants of up to $5,000 to help meet a wide range of needs throughout the 64 Connecticut towns the foundation serves.
