Man wielding a knife shot by police after suspected home invasion in Van Buren County

VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI A man suspected of breaking into a home who was armed with a knife was shot by police in Van Buren County.
The suspect, who police did not name, was reportedly cutting himself in the driveway of a residence at 36000 block of County Road 374 and 54000 block of Orchard Lane in Paw Paw Township, according to a news release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
Residents called 911 and reported the man, who they did not know, at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, police said. The man had committed a home invasion at the home, police said.
