Handwritten on the back of the card is: âOak of Oakwood,â suggesting the photo is an oak tree in Oakwood. Chou is unsure of the exact date, or of the identities of the people who are pictured. Calvin Jackson was a photographer in Hannibal during the 1880s.

Constructed circa 1895, this Queen Anne style house at 419 Bird Street, Hannibal, Mo., was home to the W.T. Perkins family. Daughter Jennie Perkins moved up the date of her marriage to Jim Williams in order to accommodate her motherâs dying wish of witnessing her daughterâs wedding.
