From speaking less and listening more (Mike Wilson), to remembering that you’re paid for your opinion, “so speak-up” (Joe Lunn), there are certain pieces of wisdom, passed on by bosses and mentors over my career, that have really stuck. But there’s one morsel that’s proving particularly resonant at the moment.
While at Naked Communications, my then head of planning Karla Pritchard warned me of the dangers of the “muffin-top strategy”: work that’s all high-level insight, perfectly honed platform idea and comms architecture, but very little in terms of explicit implementational direction or creative stimulus.

NRMA Insurance has launched “Climate Warriors”, a groundbreaking new Minecraft world, designed to help educate and engage the next generation of young Australians in understanding the importance of preparedness against the increasing risk of natural disasters, in a new initiative developed by Thinkerbell.
Set in a custom-built landscape inspired by Australian coastal towns, “Climate Warriors” is a free interactive game available on Minecraft Education Edition and Minecraft Marketplace that aims to educate children, aged between seven and 12, on how being prepared can further protect wildlife, homes and livelihoods against natural disasters such as bushfires.

2020 winners announced for the Creative Collection competition

The Grand Prix winners for the 2020 Creative Collection competition are Peters’ Proud and Punch campaign and Broadsheet Media in partnership with JCDecaux for Restaurant Live Lists.

The Outdoor Media Association (OMA) has announced the winners in the Creative Collection competition for 2020.
The joint Grand Prix winners are Peters’ Proud and Punch campaign and Broadsheet Media in partnership with JCDecaux for Restaurant Live Lists.
The judges were unanimous in their decision, noting that the two campaigns stood out for very different reasons. Peters’ was big, bright and bold, a classic Out of Home creative that launched their new line of vegan ice creams. The Broadsheet campaign in partnership with JCDecaux was recognised for delivering a great purposeful creative encouraging Melbournians and Sydneysiders to support local restaurants during lockdowns.
