Feb 6, 2021 VIENNA John J. Koza III, of Vienna, entered peacefully into eternal life at 9:04 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, following complications from surgery. He was born Tuesday, May 15, 1951, in Portage, Pa., the son of the late John J. and Anna Ridella Koza Jr. A 1969 graduate of Portage High School, John was a graduate of Duquesne University, with a master’s degree in theology. He was ordained to the priesthood from SS. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary. He celebrated his First Divine Liturgy at his home parish of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church on his parents’ wedding anniversary, June 5, 1977. The Rev. John served families as a priest in parishes of Pleasant City, Ohio, Homer City, Pa., Gibsonia, Pa., Tarentum, Pa., and his last assignment, SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.

Kenneth Ferrance 1941-2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

Jan 13, 2021 NEWTON FALLS Kenneth “Kenny” Ferrance, 79, of Newton Falls, passed peacefully Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Washington Square Healthcare Center. Kenny was born Nov. 8, 1941, in Warren, the son of John and Helen Prutz Ferrance. He was a 1960 graduate of Newton Falls High School, where he was an outstanding athlete with the football team. He would carry his enthusiasm for the game while playing for the Youngstown University football team. With his induction into the U.S. Army, Kenny would leave the university and enter the service on Dec. 13, 1961. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 12, 1963. Returning to civilian life, Kenny would begin his career as a business owner, starting as a partner in Carlos’s Nightclub in Newton Falls. He would expand his ownerships to include the Convenient Food Marts in Newton Falls and Warren.

Steve Zombar 1944-2020 | News, Sports, Jobs - Tribune Chronicle

He was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Warren, the son of Steven and Elizabeth Zombar. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in 1962. He also served in the Army as a medical lab technician at Fort Ord, Calif. He worked at Packard Electric for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of IUE Local 717. Steve enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He also enjoyed reading and watching anything about World War II. He married Betty Rati in 1968. Steve was a devout Byzantine Catholic and served as an altar server in his youth at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
