On Saturday, the Blue Demons started the weekend with a 3-0 loss to Louisville. DePaul s offense was missing in action, as the Blue Demons only tallied three hits and five base runners in the opening game of the Louisville Classic.
Louisville scored one in the third, fourth and sixth inning to account for their three runs. Louisville didn t do a lot on offense, only getting eight hits, but they did enough to take the win.
DePaul s Natalie Halvorson s record dropped to 1-3. Halvorson struck out one and walked two in six innings.

With the Chicago temperature getting colder and the snow piling up, it took DePaul a little while to warm up and start piling up the points. A hot third quarter propelled the Blue Demons to an 82-76 victory over BIG EAST rival Seton Hall.
Seton Hall led 17-13 after the first quarter, but DePaul tied it at 31 at halftime. DePaul came out strong in the third quarter to lead 61-51 at the end of three. Despite a Seton Hall fourth quarter surge, DePaul was able to hang on to grab the win. Overall, DePaul held the lead for 28:09 compared to Seton Hall s 9:56.

DePaul softball is back! Opening their 2021 season inside the warm confines of the Dome in Rosemont, the Blue Demons started with a big win. The Blue Demons went 3-2 over the weekend but unfortunately ended it with a tough loss.
The DePaul started its season with a big 8-0 victory over Valparaiso on Friday afternoon. Gabby O Riley got DePaul on the scoreboard with a home run in the bottom of the first. In the second, a Tori Meyer double scored Brooke Johnson who had doubled.
DePaul scored 5 in the fourth, starting with Meyer singling in Maranda Gutierrez. Pearl Barroso followed with a 3 run home run. After Skylor Hilger walked, Angela Scalzitti drove her in with a single, making it 7-0. Gutierrez homered in the 5th.

DePaul s road trip continued with a trip to Carnesecca Arena to face St. John s. For the second time this season, the Blue Demons beat the Red Storm. This time, DePaul won 81=-73.
Despite leading the entire game, it was a hard fought battle. After DePaul jumoed out to a big early lead, St. John s actually outscored DePaul 59-56 through the final three quarters. Still, the final is all that matters and DePaul s 11 point first quarter advantage was enough to offset the final three quarters of St. John s.
