Last year, as Anna Cairone admired her mother’s prom dress through snaps of the past, the soon-to-be graduate understood how timeless the event and reflecting fondly on it truly is.
“A lot of people look back on their prom years and years afterward, and show their kids, and their kids go on to show their kids,” said Anna, 18, who who now a senior at as Council Rock High School North and serves as class president.
“I feel like having the ability to make those memories and take those pictures and have that in your memories is really important,” she said.

Council Rock High School North ranked 33rd, while Council Rock High School South came in at 79th.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country, and the top 600 included 15 schools from across Pennsylvania.

The top-ranked Pennsylvania school was Philadelphia s Julia Masterman Academy, coming in at 18th overall. It was followed by Downingtown STEM at 34th; these were the only schools that cracked the top 200 nationwide.
The methodology used for this year s ranking focused on six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.
