The two-week event has been organized by Vision Hallowell, the Hallowell Conservation Commission and Kennebec Land Trust. People can visit some of the many businesses that have opened recently or reconnect with old favorites downtown. Hallowell’s Vaughan Woods has been overcrowded recently, so the groups look to introduce the community to other outdoor Hallowell places, like “Little Egypt.”

The Parking Committee, formed in July by former Mayor Mark Walker, discussed its recommendations last Monday at a Zoom meeting of the City Council.

The results of the study, which was provided directly to some Hallowell organizations as well as advertised at the park, were presented to the City Council at Tuesday’s meeting by representatives from Vision Hallowell, a nonprofit that promotes the city’s downtown which is spearheading the project.
