Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Gul Khilji said Jhang and Gajani tribes clashed over a land dispute in Haji Kot and as result of heavy exchange of fire between the tribes, three brothers among seven people were killed while three others sustained injuries. Soon after receiving information about the incident, local police along-with rescuers rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to district headquarter hospital Barkhan. As per hospital sources, four bodies and six injured persons with bullet injuries were brought to the hospital. Later, three of the injured persons succumbed to their wounds while under medical treatment. ....

The earthquake hit in the morning on Friday 12 February 2021 at 7:31 am local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 290 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Barkhan (pop. 8,800, 28 km away), Kohlu (pop. 11,100, 49 km away), Dajal (pop. 17,600, 89 km away), Dera Ghazi Khan (pop. 236,100, 91 km away), and Jampur (pop. 63,800, 100 km away), the quake was probably not felt. ....
