Wellington City Councillor Fleur Fitzsimons has written a letter calling for the consent to be publicly notified (File photo). “We are particularly concerned that Victoria’s move to change the signage on Rutherford House amounts to duplicity and subterfuge as the consent application did not mention the applicant is Victoria University, nor did it give the building’s name; just its address,” the letter read. ”Victoria’s ‘brand refresh’ has been widely opposed by staff, students, alumni and the Minister of Education.” The councillors had sought legal advice, which raised concerns about the building’s proximity to the Parliamentary Heritage Precinct.
