Change in Operations at Point Fortin Social Welfare District Office
The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) wishes to advise that one of its staff members, attached to the Point Fortin Local Board is a primary contact for a relative who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
As a consequence, the Officer, together with other Technical Officers of the Point Fortin Local Board, who were in close contact with each other, were advised to proceed on quarantine by the Ministry of Health as a precautionary measure, pending the outcome of tests.
While the said district office will be sanitized today, on account of the shortage of Technical staff, there will be some constraints in servicing the public. Therefore, persons are advised to delay their visits to the Office up to Thursday 29

Ministry praises Office Décor Competition winners
Port of Spain: Despite the halt of Christmas gatherings at government spaces, the Ministry of Social Development and Family celebrated the yuletide season through its Christmas Office Décor Competition. Themed: “Deck the Halls with Bows of Holly” workspaces were transformed into a Christmas Wonderland filled with handmade decorations, Christmas lights and much more. The idea for the staff-oriented activity was hosted within the context of promoting safe camaraderie and spreading Christmas cheer to staff even as the country grapples with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the associated restrictions and protocols.
Among participating Offices for the competition were the NGO Unit, National Social Development Programme, Social Investigations Division, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, Point Fortin Local Board and Legal Unit.
