Tom Scott s book Memory Bubbles tells of the people and places that shaped his life and shares the warmth of a close-knit community at a time when everyone knew their neighbours. Although his early years coincided with the war, Tom, 84, says it was a marvellous experience growing up in Belville Street He said: I can vividly remember the Blitz - for a time we all went to our beds fully dressed, so that when the sirens went off we could go down to the shelter below our tenement and underneath the street.
