The Andover Fire Department has secured another piece of motor apparatus and all that remains to complete the motorization is a new ladder truck. The motor truck is a Pierce-Arrow model, six-cylinder, 110 horse-power and capable of traveling 50 miles an hour. The engines are of a heavy type and are in excellent condition.
In Andover police court Friday, Judge Stone sentenced John Buss and Charles Donaldson each to 20 days in the house of correction. The youths were accused of a disturbance and using indecent language in the Colonial moving pictures house. They denied the charge but after the evidence of Edgar G. Holt, who sat behind them, was heard, the court found the pair guilty and imposed sentence.
MANCHESTER â Pizza and neighborhood favorites will return to south Elm Street in the new year.
The name has a familiar ring to it: Elm House of Pizza, a longtime favorite of baby boomers in the Queen City in the 1970s.
Tim Baines, owner of Mint Bistro, partnered with Bob Scribner to open at the former Theoâs Pizza and Restaurant at 102 Elm St. The space was most recently Fridas Tacos and Tequila, a Mexican restaurant, which closed.
âThe secret is out,â Baines wrote when announcing the new restaurant on his Facebook page last week.
âWe are excited to be bringing a great pizza place, neighborhood bar and gathering place to this end of town,â Baines wrote in a text message. More details, including its menu, will be released in the coming weeks. The restaurant is expected to open in mid-January.
