Bombay High Court has come down heavily on the Bandra Police for seeking more time to question Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel in the sedition case, saying please do not call them.

Bombay High Court (HC) on Monday came down heavily on the Bandra Police for seeking more time to interrogate Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel in connection with an FIR registered against them under sedition and other charges. Extending the interim relief of no coercive action against Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel till January 25, the Bombay High Court also directed the city police not to summon the duo for questioning till then.

MUMBAI: Bombay high court on Monday observing that it has serious reservations over invoking sedition penal section against actor Kangana Ranaut continued its interim protection till January 25 from any coercive action in the case over her tweets.
A division bench of justice S S Shinde and Manish Pitale was hearing sisters’ plea against the criminal case. They sought that it be quashed and the order of a magistrate directed police to register the FIR also be quashed and that pending final disposal of their petition the entire prosecution and investigation be stayed and no coercive steps be taken against them.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut appeared before the Bandra Police on Friday, pursuant to a Bombay High Court order in connection with a sedition case filed against them.
However, according to police sources, Kangana did not comply with the court s order that stated she appear before the officials at 12 o clock. She instead was late by an hour and arrived at around 01:05 pm and left the place around 03:10 pm.

Mumbai, Jan 8 : Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel appeared before the Bandra Police on Friday, pursuant to a Bombay High Court order in connection with a sedition case filed against them, a lawyer said. As directed by the Bombay HC, they reached the Bandra Police Station at around 1 pm and are presently recording their statement, lawyer Ravish Zamindar, the advocate for the complainant Munawwarali S.A. Sayyed, told IANS.
In November, a division bench comprising Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik accepted advocate Rizwan Siddique s undertaking that the two Ranaut sisters would report to the Mumbai Police on January 8, in response to the summons issued to them.
