Covid-19 (Feb 22): 2,192 new cases, more than half in Klang Valley

The Klang Valley made up more than half of the new cases today.
Other states with more than 100 new cases include Sarawak, Johor, Perak, Penang and Sabah.
On the flip side, the number of active cases continued to decline as recoveries outpaced new cases.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reported a total of 3,414 new recoveries today.
The number of patients in the intensive care unit is also at the lowest level since Jan 14.
Active cases: 32,076
Another six people died from Covid-19, bringing the death toll to 1,062.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 The Health Ministry reported 2,192 new Covid-19 cases in the country over the past day, along with another six deaths.
Today’s new cases were markedly lower than the 3,297 registered yesterday.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor’s 910 made it the state with most new cases, ahead of Kuala Lumpur (303) and Sarawak (221).

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry has reported 2,295 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today.
This is the first time that cases have exceeded the 2,000 mark for three consecutive days.
Selangor had the most cases, while there was a surge of cases in both Johor and Penang.
However, the number of recoveries was even higher with 3,321.
Of the new cases, 135 were from clusters linked to lockups, prisons, and immigration detention centres.

Active cases: 22,398 ↓ (1,035 fewer than the previous day, sixth consecutive day of new records)

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 Covid-19 cases continue to climb on the second day of 2021, with 2,295 new cases today, compared to 2,068 yesterday - bringing the total number of cases in Malaysia to 117,373.
Selangor maintains its lead of the highest number of new daily Covid-19 cases per state, at 638, followed by 580 new cases in Johor and 288 new cases in Penang.
