Many around the world have asked why the UK is so transphobic. There are many theories but the reason isn’t complicated. Turning the UK into a world-renowned transphobia hot-bed was profitable. And the perpetrators knew exactly how to do it. They had done it before. In 2015, parliament held an inquiry into transgender equality and released many recommendations including: reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA), reform of NHS gender identity services, allowing 16-year-olds to change their legal sex and legal recognition for non-binary people.
