Good news on horizon for Maryland and Delaware live music fans Roger Hillis View Comments Things are slowly getting back to normal on Delmarva as business restrictions loosen all because of the fact that COVID-19 numbers are falling. Restaurants and bars are gearing up for summer, and many of them are already presenting copious amounts of live music. In Ocean City, this is the first week of 2021 that Seacrets has been open and featured live entertainment each day and that’s the way things are set to remain there. At 5 p.m. Friday, May 14, the Jim Long Band will kick off the first of its weekly happy-hour shows at Seacrets. These weekend kickoffs will no doubt please many regulars. as Long and company have been the house band there in the summertime since the ’90’s. Another rock act that will kick off a weekly residency is Go, Go Gadget, which will play at 10 p.m. each Thursday beginning May 20. ....
View Comments As Maryland has lifted restrictions and Delaware prepares to do the same later this month live entertainment is making a comeback at area beaches. In Ocean City, the four-day Springfest event at the Inlet is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, May 6-9. While the traditional series of concerts by national entertainers under the big tent has been scuttled this year, there will still be music galore outside in the parking lot courtesy of local favorites. Springfest will showcase the music of about 30 performers over the course of the four days, with music running from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Local legends Teenage Rust & the Rustettes, the house band at the former B.J.’s On the Water, will close out the Friday portion at 7 p.m. Another highlight will be the original music of the bluesy duo Rivers & Rhodes, kicking things off bright and early at 10 a.m. Sunday. ....
