This nation needs a political party that represents the traditional values of conservative principles. We need a Republican Party that will collaborate with their Democratic colleagues so our nation can

As former President Donald Trump labors to save his political future, the trial to convict him for inciting the Capitol insurrection is already disintegrating into farce.
Trump’s initial team of defense lawyers has fled for cover, apparently unwilling to risk their own reputations in the case based on the argument that it is unconstitutional to convict him after he has left office. A new, smaller team of lesser-knowns is in place to combat the more serious allegation of treason in turning his back on his country to save his own skin.
As an appointed team of House members assembles its arguments for the Feb. 9 trial, it will be armed not only with reams of video showing the armed assault on Congress. Also expected is testimony on Trump’s personal contributions to the mayhem, through his words of encouragement to the mob of thousands who attacked the people’s house on Jan. 6.

The current Republican Party should not be confused with the GOP, the Grand Old Party of Abraham Lincoln. Today’s Republican Party values raw power, devoid of heart or soul, over deeply held principles.
Have you heard about H.R. 1? If not, I would urge you to read the text of the bill immediately. It is called the “For The People Act”, and you can find it right here. The text of this bill specifically states that Congress has the “ultimate supervisory power over federal elections”, but of course anyone that is familiar with what the U.S. Constitution actually says knows that this is not true. The states are supposed to have final authority over their own election laws, and H.R. 1 is a blatant attempt to usurp that authority. Unfortunately, in the aftermath of the riot at the U.S. Capitol there are very few politicians in Washington that still have a willingness to stand up for election integrity. H.R. 1 is almost certainly going to get through the House of Representatives, and it has a really good chance of getting through the Senate as well.
