Chattanooga Student Lucy Cleveland Wins $3,000 Coca-Cola UNITED Scholarship Saturday, May 22, 2021 Lucy Cleveland, a senior at STEM School Chattanooga, is the recipient of a $3,000 Crawford Johnson III and Walker Johnson Jones Scholarship on behalf of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. Ms. Cleveland is the daughter of Adam Cleveland, who is employed at Chattanooga Coca-Cola, a sales, distribution and production center of Coca-Cola UNITED. “Coca-Cola UNITED has been a family-focused company for nearly 120 years,” said Jack Sherman, Chattanooga Coca-Cola Sales Center manager. “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide college scholarships to the children and grandchildren of our associates.”

Hamilton County Schools Receives $2 Million Grant For Innovative High School Models Program Tuesday, May 18, 2021 The Tennessee Department of Education announced Hamilton County Schools (HCS) has been awarded a two-million dollar grant as part of the Innovative High School Models program.   The goal of the new Innovative High School Models program is to encourage strong, strategic and innovative partnerships between Tennessee public school districts, postsecondary education institutions and local employers to reimagine how to prepare students for success after high school.   “Future readiness is the foundation of our entire strategic plan,” said Blake Freeman, K-12 academics officer for Hamilton County Schools. “I’m excited we can continue to build on that foundation and provide our students a variety of opportunities to thrive in life after school.”

Hamilton County Schools Partners With PEF To Expand Access To eLabs Tuesday, February 2, 2021 The Public Education Foundation, in partnership with Hamilton County Schools, announced a $1 million investment from an anonymous donor to open 15 new eLabs in HCS and to support the further development of the world-leading eLab network.    Officials said, HCS eLabs provide students with rich learning opportunities in engineering, computing and environmental technology through hands-on activities with digital fabrication equipment (including 3D printing, micro-computing and robotics). Now, more than ever, students need opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in science, technology, and innovation. The HCS eLabs provide a state-of-the-art learning environment where students can hone those skills as they develop resiliency and confidence solving real-world problems.
