Early voting is underway in San Antonio for high-profile races, including the mayor, City Council, a proposition aimed at repealing police officers’ collective bargaining power and a proposition that could expand the use of bonds.
Election Day is set for May 1, but locals can submit a ballot now through April 27 during the early voting period.
Hours for early voting will be:
Monday, April 19-Friday, April 23: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, April 24: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Local organizations make national headlines with FEMA

Jackson County Hunting Heroes (JCHH) recently partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to feed those in need in the Jackson County and Wood County areas during the COVID-19 pandemic. In conjunction with the Jackson County Ministerial Association (JCMA), over 10,500 meals have been distributed to local food pantries, and local churches, including Hispanic ministries across West Virginia since the onset of the virus in March 2020.
“When FEMA saw the need and how successful Jackson County volunteers were in distributing this food, they called me and said they had fresh food, frozen burgers and chicken, and such. I was authorized to go down to one of the military bases to load up a couple of trailers for local distribution and fed over 500 individuals,” Parchment Valley Conference Center director Reverend Frank Miller, also a member of the JCMA said.
