Crews continue to set up and prepare for the 2021 Okoboji Winter Games OKOBOJI, Iowa (KTIV) The University of Okoboji Winter Games are still on for this weekend, but most indoor events are canceled to ensure tourists have a safe experience. While events like the Chili Cookoff and the Battle of the Bartenders are canceled, some are being moved outdoors. Director of Membership & Events at the Iowa Great Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Kiley Zankowski, said the ice on the lake is almost entirely cleared for the outdoor activities. She said Thursday and Friday is when the professional kite flyers will come through town, and Friday is when the ice sculptures will be delivered.

Vintage Pinball Tournament Coming to Arnolds Park for Winter Games January 28, 2021 5:07 am Shutterstock Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)– There is going to a blast from the past beginning today with a vintage pinball tournament coming to the Iowa Great Lakes for Winter Games Weekend. “Pinball Wizard” Tucker Flandrena tells us the available machines date back to long before many electronic games were even thought of. While the Flandrena’s machines are available to play anytime the museum is open, he decided to have a special tournament this weekend to help celebrate the 41st Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games. Tournament will run Thursday and Friday from eleven to five each day and Saturday from ten to four. There is a fifteen dollar entry fee to play with each participant taking the best ten scores out of eleven games.
