A sliver of time, and of space.
For almost 33 minutes the equivalent of over an entire half of lacrosse Siena goalie Chris Yanchoris gave them neither. He gave them nothing.
But 2.7 seconds left in regulation was enough time, and a tiny window from a tight angle was enough space for Monmouth to tie the game.
Then the Hawks’ Andrew Duswalt popped in a rebound with 2:03 left in the second overtime to beat Siena 7-6 at Hickey Field on Saturday, spoiling an epic 26-save performance by Yanchoris, a junior from Sykesville, Maryland.

LOUDONVILLE The Siena men’s lacrosse team announced its four captains, all seniors, on Monday, including Niskayuna High School graduate Dylan Pantalone and Shaker High School graduate Nick Pepe.
They’ll be joined by Jack Kiernan and Braedon Labar, and one extra job head coach Liam Gleason wants them to perform this season is to keep the team dialed in on observing safe practices off the field to cut down on the potential for COVID-19 to throw the season off track.
