Two wanted Maoists gunned down in MP encounter

Express News Service BHOPAL: Two wanted Maoists, including an armed woman cadre, were gunned down in an encounter in the jungles of Mandla district on Friday night.  The slain Maoists – both members of the Vistar Platoon of the banned CPI (Maoist) – have been identified as 25-year-old Geeta and 22-year-old Dulla alias Mainu, both residents of the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The slain Maoists were accused in 18 cases each in the Balaghat district of MP and Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. Both Dulla and Geeta, who carried a bounty of Rs 8 lakh each (Rs 3 lakh from MP government and Rs 5 lakh from Chhattisgarh government), were Area Committee members of CPI (Maoist) Vistar Platoon 3.

Two naxals killed in an encounter in Madhya Pradesh s Mandla district ANI | Updated: Feb 13, 2021 15:24 IST Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) [India], February 13 (ANI): Two Naxals were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Madhya Pradesh (MP) Police and the state s Hawk force on Friday night in Lalpur village of Mandla district. The encounter happened in the Motinala Police station limit and the bodies of the Naxals were recovered in a search done by Police on Saturday morning. The Hawk Force had received information that six Naxals would reach Lalpur village and had been waiting for them for two days. On their arrival on Friday night, the Police asked them to surrender. The Naxals refused and opened fire at the Police who fired back in retaliation, resulting in the death of two Naxals.
