Feb. 18 meeting
KEY ACTION Plans for re-adding aspects of the Rocket Center were discussed. The project was down-sized last spring, because of the uncertainty of Rover funding and on-set of COVID-19.
Recently the Board began discussing the possibility of re-adding the original entrance, the second story of the anticipated medical facility, and a scaled down version of the swimming pool area.
On Thursday the Board voted unanimously to re-bid these additions. Superintendent Todd Herman guestimates that the plans will cost around $200,000 for the proposed $3 million of possible construction.
Although all five Board members agreed to the re-bidding of the pool, they were not all in agreement on voting on the certainty of moving forward. A review of the final plans, and cost, as well as further discussion with members of the community, will take place before a final decision is made.
A swimming pool that had been dumped from the plans for the Rocket Center, may be back on the drawing board.

The discussion of re-adding a swimming pool to the design of the eagerly anticipated Rocket Center was revisited by the board when members of the community were present at the meeting to discuss to possibility.
The proposed swimming pools were removed from the design earlier in the year as concerns about decreased future funding came to light. After more consideration, the board is contemplating adding one multi-function pool back on to the design of the Rocket Center that is currently under construction.
