Daren Jorgenson, a Winnipeg pharmacist who made headlines for years due to his business ventures and legal troubles has died.
Social media postings by friends and former employees of Jorgenson talk about his death. One Facebook post refers to him as a true hero, advocate, father and friend.
Jorgenson, an internet pharmacy pioneer and medical entrepreneur, was most recently in the news when he was sued by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba in 2019. He had accused the regulatory body of covering up the deaths of 24 Indigenous people. The suit was successful, and he was ordered to pay the college $150,000 in damages.
