ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan Airlines said its engineering arm has started servicing aircraft belonging to Qatar Airways after a deal was inked with Qatar Airways to carry out fleet maintenance.
The first maintenance certification was performed on an Airbus A321 aircraft A7-AID of Qatar Airways last week by SriLankan’s Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) will do the work at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, the airline said.
“This strategic initiative emerges as a timely opportunity yielding additional foreign revenue to the country and keeping in line with the vision, of the Government of Sri Lanka to make MRIA an international aviation hub,” the airline said in a statement.
