Bryan fire chief comes with more than 30 years of fire service

The city announced Richard Giusti will assume the position early next month. To be selected for this I am truly humbled, I really am, said Giusti. It s exciting to me, but not just because I ll be fire chief, it s where I ll be fire chief. Bryan is such an awesome city.   Giusti will be coming from the San Antonino Fire Department, where he has been serving since 1995. He is currently the assistant fire chief and oversees 400 people in the department. His duties include planning, policy, program development, performance evaluation, reporting and training.

After a nationwide search, the department received 44 qualified applications. Vetted, the applicants were processed by a team of representatives from the Fire Department, Police Department, and other departments within the City of Bryan. Interviewing their 8 finalists, Giusti was unanimously voted in to succeed retired Fire Chief, Randy McGregor. Giusti is expected to begin his position with the Bryan Fire Department, sometime in early April according to their news release. “Over the last few months, learning about the City of Bryan and its Fire Department has shown me what a tremendous community and organization I am joining. It is very apparent both the City Leadership and the Fire Department have a strong culture that focuses on the safety and service to the citizens we serve,” Giusti said. “It is a distinct honor to be se

Chief Master Sergeant Anthony J. Fisher is currently the Superintendent of the 10th Mission Support Group, USAF Academy, Colorado. Chief Fisher is the senior enlisted advisor to the commander; his responsibilities include overseeing the mission effectiveness, proper utilization and professional development of 285 enlisted personnel and 2,000 civilians in 6 squadrons. Chief Fisher grew up in Charles City, Iowa and enlisted in the Air Force in August 1993. Following basic training, he attended the Vehicle Maintenance Apprentice Course at Lackland AFB, Texas. He spent the next nine years in the vehicle maintenance career field until he became a Military Training Leader in 2002 and has served as a Military Training Leader at squadron, group and MAJCOM levels for 13 years. Prior to assuming his current position as Superintendent, 10th Mission Support Group, Chief Fisher served as the Superintendent, 81st Training Group, Keesler Air Force Base Mississippi.
