Replacement SNAP Benefits Recipients who lost food and/or their Lone Star card in the winter storms can apply for replacement food benefits for both regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)  allotments and SNAP emergency allotments provided in response to COVID-19.  SNAP benefits recipients are encouraged to request replacement benefits through one of the following options:   Dial 2-1-1 and select option 2.   Download and complete Form H1855 (Affidavit for Nonreceipt or Destroyed Food Stamp Benefits),   Once completed, the form can be faxed to 1-877-447-2839, or   Mailed to Texas Health and Human Services Commission, PO Box 149027, Austin, TX 78714-9027. 

City of Austin and Travis County Winter Storm Recovery Operations Continued Through Sunday

Most City operations resume Monday Correction - 12:30 a.m, ACC Pinnacle Campus (7748 Highway 290 West, 78736) will also operate as a joint Austin-Travis County center for water distribution from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.. The City will resume normal operations Monday morning. The Austin Parks and Recreation Department continues to assess winter storm damage to its facilities. All facilities will remain closed until thorough site inspections are complete; however, parks and trails remain open. For the latest information, please visit austintexas.gov/parkclosures.  Water Distribution  Sites  Community access to free water resources expanded on Sunday with the opening of 10 water distribution sites coordinated by the Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center (A-TCEOC) at the following locations:

It s been a very tough week for Texans, it started with a deadly 100+ car pileup outside of Fort Worth, followed by chilling temperatures and days of widespread outages felt statewide, but there is a light gleaming at the end of this very dark week. Both College Station Utilities and Bryan Texas Utilities took to Facebook to spread the good news Thursday. I think it was about midnight last night. ERCOT stopped the rolling outages because they were able to get enough generation online and load had dropped enough that it was no longer necessary, Timothy Crabb, Director of Electric Utility of College Station said.
