Toronto will be getting its longest dinner table yet this summer as part of a project from the person behind street food markets that have gotten us through restrictions that kept us dining outdoors this year.
Now, he s putting on an Ontario-wide series of outdoor dining events called The Longest Dinner Table that will launch in Toronto.
Suos tells blogTO the events will consist of tables stretched further than the eyes can see, across over 100 locations in Ontario at locations from wineries to beaches to local streets.
Safety first
A raft of safety measures were implemented in the latest season. Partnerships such as SHIELDme, a producer and supplier of sanitisation products and services, were key to ensure guest safety. The collective effort was recognised at the ‘Innovation in Construction & FM awards 2020’ as Global Village won the ‘HSE Initiative of the Year’ award. In addition, Global Village claimed several other awards during Season 25, including the ‘Commitment to Sustainability’ title at the Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene, and Facilities Awards and the 2020 Traveller’s Choice Award from Trip Advisor having ranked in the top 10 per cent of worldwide attractions. After a successful and remarkable silver jubilee edition, Dubai’s Global Village will return for its season 26 in October, authorities announced on Monday.
More announcements and updates regarding next season will follow in due course.
The Global Village has made public some of the highlights of the 25th season which concluded on May 2, after a 190-day celebration marking its 25th anniversary.
The highlights included the ‘HSE Initiative of the Year’, award; the ‘Commitment to Sustainability’ title at the Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene, and Facilities Awards and the 2020 Traveler’s Choice Award from Trip Advisor having ranked in the top 10 per cent of worldwide attractions; and retaining the coveted Sword of Honour from the British Safety Council.
