The actor told Entertainment Weekly Thursday that she and her family absolutely love a âSNLâ sketch from last season called âMurdur Durdurâ that makes fun of the castsâ distinctive Delco accents in her hit HBO series.
âI have never felt so validated as an actor in my entire life as I now do because of âMurdur Durdur,ââ she told the outlet during an interview.
She added:Â âEvery now and then in our household weâll be like, âOh, should we just quickly watch it?â And weâll crowd around the iPhone crying with laughter.â
âMare of Eastownâ took place in a fictional small town located in non-fictional Delaware County, Pennsylvania, which is close to Philadelphia. Over the years the region has developed a very distinctive accent with very rounded Oâs and irregular Aâs.
“We’ll always hold the door open for you, Kate,” Wawa tweeted.
“I would ve loved to be the one to take kate winslet s hand & gently guide it to unlock the wawa secret menu touch screen,” another Twitter user said.
“Kate Winslet s reaction to Wawa is the correct one. I am prepared to fight about this,” another wrote.
