Întregalde was born of the difficulties generated by the pandemic, but he says that he had been thinking about the film’s topic for years. “The first location scouting for this film took place in 2012 […] Indeed, logistically, the movie is COVID-safe; it would have been much more difficult to shoot a feature in Bucharest.” About the topic, Muntean says that he wanted a feature that “contextualised generosity, exploring the role of altruism in us growing as people. Starting with this idea, I wrote the screenplay together with Răzvan Rădulescu and Alexandru Baciu. During the shoot, because locals played some important characters and because nature changed some parts of the story, the film acquired nuances that we didn’t anticipate at the very beginning.”
